Acumen is part of the IDG Group, founded over two decades ago to provide security and risk management services to enable international, commercial and NGO clients to pursue their missions in some of the most challenging and complex regions of the world.

At the heart of IDG Group is the employment of exceptional and experienced Gurkha veterans from the British Army, Indian Army and Singapore Police Force and local personnel employed directly from within the areas where we operate.
Acumen takes this wealth of experience and applies it to our work with clients worldwide to provide solutions to challenges they face conducting their business in complex regions.

With expertise in the security, commercial, and governmental sectors across East Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Calum combines significant professional knowledge with a postgraduate academic focus on nation states’ recovery from conflict. He has long experience of successfully building and leading diverse teams in complex settings, and delivering commercial and strategic results regardless of the adversities present. He is a fluent Arabic speaker, and has military experience as a British Army Reserve Officer.

Jo is a qualified senior HR professional with significant strategic and operational experience. CIPD qualified, she has delivered end-to-end HR management, systems and best practice within large national and international companies. Collaborating closely with business unit managers and third-party clients, Jo builds strong working relationships based on respect for the client’s operations, the workforce and the challenges they face.
